back from my Taipei trip & i had a jolly good time with my sister.
first time on a holiday with her & totally enjoyed her company.
back from the trip means i'm back to bball. what can i say - i just love this game!
during the one week break, i did some thinking...
i realised why i keep going back to this team - it's not only the love of this game, but also the love of this team "Invictus", the people that this team consists of; i know that if i wanna compete with a bunch of gals, it'll be them; i've come to realise that more than teammates, i've treated them as family - the family that i wanna fight for & compete together with. However, this other question popped up - "who in this team sees you the way you see them?" - and i realised i can't be so sure of anyone in this team that feels the same way; and i found out that i was maybe right about it.
it's so human nature to gossip about others behind their backs but never right in their face. when that happened to me, i heard that only my sis stood up for me, telling the rest to tell it right in my face shld they have a problem with me. i dunno what went on but when i knew about this, i was sad (yeah coz people gossip behind you when you're not there) but more than that, i thank you for standing up for me for knowing that besides the emotional side of me, i'm still strong enough to handle anything thrown straight in my face. i admit it's never easy to handle criticisms thrown to me, i'd probably hated you for doing that, but the other side of me reflects and knows it's good for me and it'll probably take some time.
Sis...thank you for your support & understanding! Thank you for even trying.
Sometimes for Invictus, I'm disappointed that not everyone has a common goal. What's your goal? To come together as friends and play only? Half the team is here to make friends and be part of something, while some of us wants to be a better team, to reach the level of Home U or Qian Xi. Yes! That is my goal for Invictus, that one day we can compete at that level. However, the future of Invictus won't be headed in that direction if not everyone in the team aims for that and work towards that. I know this team have improved over this period but there's far more for us to do before reaching a higher level. Each member of the team needs to learn to carry their own weight.
Another thing that's been talked about in the team is that our bench isn't comparable, yeah i admit it's true and it's easy for one to say that we can't go farther with so-and-so, maybe there's some truth in it but before making such comments, have you yourself done anything to make her a better player before making such comments? I believe there's something each individual can contribute to the team, and it's the responsibility of the individual to better herself so as to be an asset to the team, and a comment about another's inability can only be valid if you've actually tried to bring out her STRENGTHS. If you think we're part of the team INVICTUS, jolly well show that team spirit that we lack and stop being selfish!
*p.s. this is for de if you're reading this. thankz for straightening me out, you've made your pt & i'm grateful for that. to me, you've matured alot and thanks for caring enough to tell it straight to my face. at least you tried with me, while others didn't. oh...i'll owe you your bday prezzy until i can afford it ok? pls wait for it.
